  2. APPLICATION OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY

    Most of this privacy policy applies to all personal information we collect and to our website and full suite of platforms, Logcheck Online.

    However, some of our privacy practices may differ slightly for information collected by a particular product or as it relates to particular types of information (such as information related to a vehicle you currently, or have previously, owned). Where this is the case, we have outlined that particular practice in its own section within this privacy policy and, to the extent of any inconsistency, that section supersedes the general practices outlined in the rest of this privacy policy.

    As the provider of a customer relationship and vehicle information management and sharing platform, the majority of the personal information we collect and hold is on behalf of our users as a data processor. As such, for much of the personal information we handle, third parties also have access and rights to this personal information and we are unable to control how they choose to handle it. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of our users which may differ from the practices outlined in this privacy policy, including for any breaches of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) or the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) (Spam Act).

    1. COLLECTION FROM YOU

    We may also disclose personal information to third party contractors as required for us to provide our goods and services to you, such as cloud-service providers, IT professionals, marketing agencies and debt collection agencies, located inside or outside Australia. We take care to work with such third parties who we believe maintain an acceptable standard of data security and require them not to use your personal information for any purpose except for those activities we have asked them to perform on our behalf.

  7. VEHICLE RELATED INFORMATION

    We operate a vehicle information management and sharing platform known as Logcheck Online which allows users to input, manage, share and view vehicle related information such as service and repair history, Vehicle Identification Numbers and registration numbers (Vehicle Information). A key benefit of this is that a digital service history log book is able to maintained for a vehicle and can be shared between current and future owners, dealers, mechanics and other car related service providers. In order to provide this functionality, any Vehicle Information we collect will be disclosed to other users of Logcheck Online.

    We take steps to minimise the risks Vehicle Information being misused by only making it available to users of Logcheck Online who must agree to the platform’s terms of use to be granted a user account. Our platform terms of use can be found at www.logcheckonline.com.au/business-terms-and-conditions.

    We also take steps to deidentify Vehicle Information and prevent personal information being disclosed via the Vehicle Information sharing functionality, including by requiring users of Logcheck Online, under the platform’s terms of use, to not include in sections where they can input Vehicle Information, any personal information. However, please note, we are not able to actively monitor all information a user inputs to and shares via Logcheck Online and cannot guarantee that personal information will not inadvertently be shared.

  8. SECURITY

    We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is secure and protected from misuse or unauthorised access. Our information technology systems are password protected, and we use a range of administrative and technical measures to protect these systems. However, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.

    Our website may contain links to other websites. Those links are provided for convenience and may not remain current or be maintained. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those linked websites and we suggest you review the privacy policies of those websites before using them.
